Biking in the Streets of New York…Not Safe!

As if the streets of New York weren’t safe enough now they will be over crowded with bicycles.  In a story that broke on November 10th, bike advocates would like to keep the Upper East Side from becoming a kind of Waterloo for protected bicycle lanes.

So along with riders and elected officials from the Upper East Side and East Harlem, they gathered in front of City Hall on Wednesday to demand that the city extend protected bike lanes from 34th Street to 125th Street on First and Second Avenues.  Are you kidding me?  Get a rope I say!

  2. If it has wheels and on the road shouldn’t it be able to do the posted speed limit? Don’t people get tickets for not going with the flow of traffic cause they going slow? I don’t think anyone said the bicyclist was a fault. All I’m saying is if you can’t do speed limit especially on main roads stay off it. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Who’s at fault when an old lady is driving minimum speed limit and she switches lanes right when someone is merging onto highway. They both are doing everything legal but cause the one going slow she caused an accident. So who’s at fault in that one.

    • If the one merging onto the highway is on a bicycle then that is where the ticket lands.
